We are excited to announce an opportunity for talented students to participate in our START program. The program is designed for students who demonstrate exceptional potential in the visual arts and are eager to develop their abilities further.
Establishing installations around the school, enhancing the overall beauty of the school through the use of and creative exploration, and maintaining the needs of the Art room, will enable students to collaborate while honing their artistic skills.
Additionally, we will dedicate extra time to refining their current projects. We plan to visit museums and galleries to broaden our artistic insights. Beyond assisting with needs in the Art room, we will explore what can be achieved using the available materials and supplies. We will also learn how to properly use equipment and supplies.
This club recognizes students are able to do great work at any age. Therefore, we will invite students ranging from grade 5-8 to join. I wish to inspire and empower my students to think, work, and problem-solve, like artists. While having fun, in the process! This approach can eliminate self-doubt, grow their confidence, and help them achieve their personal best. Our STARt club is more than just an after school program, it is an incubator for creativity and success!
START club will be held immediately following dismissal and run until 4:55. It will last four days out of the week, Monday-Thursday. Participants are strongly encouraged to bring in smocks, aprons, old tees, sweatshirts, or any clothing item that can be used for the purpose of covering their uniforms while working inside the Art room. Bringing in their own supplies is also welcomed. Discipline issues, including three or more detentions, may result in a release of a student from the START program. Students may be asked to leave the program if any disciplinary issues occur, in and outside, of the Art club.
